safe arrival

We arrived safely in Shanghi this eveing, about 9:30 p.m. Shanghi time on Thursday evening, which would be 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning Wilmington time.

Had a breif delay getting out of Detroit, but not bad.

The Shanghi skyline is beautiful at night, with lots and lots of colored lights, almost like a huge Christmas display.

We also drove over the sight for the World Expo which will be open here for a few more weeks.  Looks like we may get to the Expo tomorrow night, which would be a wonderful surprise.

Please keep us in your prayers as we try to get our bodies adjusting to a new time and prepare for our weekend of worship in Jiangyin.

All Systems Go

After a brief delay getting visas for me and Charlie, we've not got everything ready to go.

We leave on Wednesday October 6, so folks are beginning to pack and weight their suitcases - a 44 lb limit for travel inside China.

Will keep you posted on the road.

Back to China

12 of us from First Presbyterian Wilmington will be headed to China with the Presbyterian Outreach Foundation to deepen our connections with the rapidly growing Christian church there.

We'll leave October 6 and return October 19.

I'll post pictures, videos and websites as I am able - so check the blog and keep us in your prayers.
